McLean, Virginia – Xcelerate Solutions announced recently that Matthew Thompson has joined the firm as Vice President of Strategic Solutions. In his new role, Matt is responsible for developing and managing Xcelerate’s overall portfolio of security-related business, as well as contributing to the overall corporate strategy. Matt is an industry-recognized thought leader in Identity and Security Management and currently serves as Chair of the Management Council of the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group, a public-private sector collaboration to promote secure, user-friendly ways to give individuals and organizations confidence in their online interactions.
A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and Harvard Business School, Matt is a proven business leader, a successful entrepreneur, and a decorated combat veteran. He served as an Army Ranger, completing four deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Matt’s professional experience includes positions at McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs. In 2010, Matt co-founded ID.me, an identity management software company recognized as one of the “100 Brilliant Companies” by Entrepreneur Magazine in 2014.
Matt serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee for the largest homeless veterans support organization in the country. In this capacity, Matt works directly with the CEO on strategic initiatives in the area of preventive services and care for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans.
