Dyson Richards is Xcelerate’s Senior Vice President of Business Development where his primary responsibility is growing the company and expanding Xcelerate’s corporate capabilities. He applies over two decades of experience and skills building world-class federal IT and consulting organizations to enhance our reputation as a leading professional services firm in the federal market. Dyson works with customers, government leaders, strategic partners and practitioners within Xcelerate to align corporate offerings with the evolving needs of our current and future clients. Dyson is active in the industry serving on the Board of Directors of the Professional Services Council (PSC) and currently serves as Chairman of the Smart Contracting Working Group (SCWG).
Dyson began his career in the U.S. Navy where he specialized in operating nuclear power plants as an instructor at a land-based training facility and operator aboard the USS Enterprise. After 8 years of service, he leveraged his Navy roots in the government contracting industry serving in roles of increasing responsibility at Newport News Shipbuilding, Keyfile Corporation, Vredenburg, American Management Systems (AMS) and RGS which sold to USfalcon in 2018.
Dyson holds a M.S. degree in Technology Management from the University of Maryland University College and a B.S. from The New School in New York. A native of Rockville, MD, he is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children.
