McLean, VA – Xcelerate Solutions is honored that our Director of Security Services, Mr. Brett Mencin, was invited to provide his insight, based on nearly a decade of personnel security, suitability, and credentialing (SSC) reform expertise, at the 3rd Annual Training, Resources, and Information-sharing Security Awareness Council (TRI-SAC) Training Seminar. TRI-SAC was formed in 2010 as a collaborative effort between Cleared Industry and the Defense Security Service (DSS) to promote industrial security awareness, training and the sharing of information. Its mission is to provide industrial security continuing education and training consistent with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and to promote interaction and networking among its members. Mr. Mencin spoke on “Emerging Trends in SSC,” as well as sharing his in-depth knowledge of the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), including its designation as a Federal Shared Service, the roll-out of DISS to Department of Defense (DoD) components and industry, and the role of DISS in the Executive Branch adoption of SSC processes. He was also the only industry representative participating on a Presenter Panel that responded to Questions & Answers (Q&A) from attendees concerning the roll-out of DISS and other related SSC topics.
This is the second time Mr. Mencin has presented at TRI-SAC and his first time presenting at their annual meeting. He currently provides SSC subject matter expertise to the Performance Accountability Council Program Management Office (PAC PMO), as well as serving as a liaison across the Government. He is a product owner for the requirements, design, and realization of the DISS designated Federal Shared Service.
At Xcelerate, Mr. Mencin provides leadership for the Personnel Security program portfolio. In this role, he leads a team of SSC personnel who are dedicated to furthering the personnel security mission by supporting major transformative initiatives including Continuous Evaluation (CE). Xcelerate is recognized throughout the DoD personnel security community as a thought leader in addressing the ever-increasing need to protect our Country’s classified information. Xcelerate’s insight and experience spans the full personnel security clearance lifecycle, positioning us to support the Government through upcoming organizational change management challenges, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of this critical work.
